For those who simply prefer the look and feel of a textile back, ARA is now also available in a mesh back alongside the standard elastomer back version.
The specially designed soft touch mesh is as simple and effective as the elastomer membrane and has been designed using materials and assembly techniques which deliver a long and useful life while facilitating effective recycling.
ARA mesh is designed to Cradle2Cradle standards.
Orangebox developed the ARA mesh in response to a brief from Price Waterhouse Coopers UK, that stated a preference for mesh on a potential order of 4500 chairs. PWC were delighted with the prototypes and proceeded with the order.
The delivery and installation of the 4500 chairs was completed in March 2011 and Orangebox released the chair for the International market in May 2011.
In addition to this the ARA task chair has been shortlisted for an award at the 2011 Australian International Design Awards, in the Architectural and Interiors category.
ARA is available exclusively from Innerspace in Western Austrailia and samples will be arriving shortly.
