On 21 April 2011 Premier Colin Barnett officially opened Central Institute of Technology’s new $62million training facility in the heart of Northbridge.
The opening of 30 Aberdeen Street was also attended by Federal Special Minister of State, Gary Gray and Minister for Training Peter Collier.
The attention-grabbing building completes Central’s redevelopment of its city campus and is the latest stepping stone in the State’s ongoing redevelopment of Northbridge.
Designed by Perth architects T&Z in collaboration with Melbourne architects Lyons, the new building moves away from the typical long corridor and classrooms format of old.
It features state of the art teaching and learning facilities, adaptable, applied research laboratories and dynamic live spaces that students want to congregate and learn in.
This provided the perfect place to showcase the latest Creative Workspace Furniture designs and solutions from Innerspace.
Over 600 student desks and back office workstations were provided and formed a fundemental part of a vibrant, inviting building that engages with the local community, and provides students with a great place to study, train and interact.
