Designed by Sam Hecht and Kim Collin at Industrial Facility - Formwork by Herman Miller are accessories designed to help bring some order to papers, tools, and artefacts in any domain.
Each container is made from ABS plastic with a non-slip Silicone base and range from Pencil Cups to Trays, Boxes, and Media Stands.
They can be arranged horizontally and vertically, with each container being multi-dimensional in where they can be placed and what they can contain.
The project is an affirmation that the things that surround us are now a mixture of the analogue and digital, and that the true nature of what serves us on a daily basis is far more varied than we might have imagined.
A pencil cup may contain pens and scissors but also inevitably USB sticks, rubber bands, brushes, and keys.
Formwork acknowledges this, with a cantilever that extends out, so that the small things are visible and accessible.
The sizes also relate to dimensions of commonly found items. For instance a cup shares the same diameter as a roll of masking tape.
With forms that are pluralistic, stackable and made well, Formwork's range of use becomes far broader than in the office, making it as open as possible.
* Innerspace is licenced to sell the Herman Miller range into Western Australia.
