CANVAS brings a bold new dining concept to the MCA, with a newly transformed space, stunning Sydney harbour views and a seasonal Chef-in-Residence.

CANVAS, located on level four of the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) in The Rocks, offers a refined dining experience that seamlessly blends art, design, and cuisine. The interior is thoughtfully crafted with a restrained colour palette of soft creams and natural timber, complemented by elements such as Huon pine, ripple glass, and white marble. Lighting and natural wood finishes further enhance the calm, neutral ambiance.

The space is elegantly furnished with the timber and upholstered seat versions of the Merano Chair and Merano Barstool by Ton, contributing to the restaurant’s sophisticated yet inviting ambiance.

Framed by these sophisticated interiors, CANVAS offers sweeping views of Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, with the vistas becoming an integral part of the dining experience.

The story behind a classic.

Timeless in design, the Portuguese Chair takes inspiration from the German Bauhaus school and the iconic tubular steel forms of pioneers like René Herbst, Marcel Breuer, and Mies van der Rohe.

Its elegance lies in two continuous steel tubes, one forming the back legs, arms and backrest; the other shaping the front legs and seat frame.

Available exclusively through Innerspace in Australia.
