Carlotta is a new Mediterranean concept for Canberra, from restaurateur Chris Lucas. Channelling the generous spirit of Mediterranean dining, giving a warm and vibrant nod to the trattorias and tavernas found dotted along the European coastline.

The furniture collection that adorns this space was selected to reflect both the restaurant’s bold personality and its deep respect for tradition, blending vibrant tones, urban style and a sense of comfortable sophistication.

In the private dining area, the 811 Chair  by Ton provides an elevated yet relaxed experience. Its minimalist design and warm-toned upholstery create an inviting atmosphere, perfect for long conversations and shared meals. When paired with the Terra Firma Table by Ross Didier, the combination enhances the space, offering a harmonious blend of style and comfort for any gathering.

To seamlessly tie the private dining area with the main room, the 811 Stool by Ton was placed at the bar, as it mirrors the same aesthetic. The stools bring a cohesive flow to the space while maintaining the vibrant energy that defines the restaurant’s overall atmosphere.

A nod to history, the iconic 18 Chair by Ton has graced dining spaces since 1876, and in this restaurant, it plays a central role. Customised to fit the warm, Mediterranean-inspired tones of the restaurant, this bentwood classic offers the perfect balance of form and function. Its timeless design feels both nostalgic and contemporary, making it the ideal choice for the main dining area.

For the outdoor spaces, the Elliot Table and the Bold Table both by Pedrali, were selected with durability in mind while exuding a sophisticated yet relaxed style.

With its rippled, asymmetrical silhouette, inspired by the swirling motion of air through smoke or mist, its smoke-coloured, mouth-blown glass brings an ethereal touch to any setting. Whether cradling a bouquet or standing alone, its sculptural form adds quiet drama—and each unique piece tells its own story.
