Frigerio
Frigerio’s story is a true Italian journey, defined by passion, tenacity, and dedication to excellence.
Founded in 1938 by Federico Frigerio in Mariano Comense, Brianza, the brand has become synonymous with refined craftsmanship and elegant design for over 85 years. What began as a family-run artisan business, specialising in the fusion of modern and classic styles, evolved in the 1960s when Federico’s sons, Gianfranco and Angelo, expanded the brand into an industrial powerhouse.
Frigerio seamlessly blends exceptional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology to create truly unique pieces. Whilst equipped with the latest machinery capable of cutting multiple fabric layers and automating leather cuts, Frigerio consciously opts for a manual approach, carefully cutting each layer one at a time to ensure perfect alignment of patterns and motifs. The brand’s skilled artisans, using only the finest raw materials—such as premium leathers, fabrics, wood, metal, and padding are able personalise each creation, embodying the dedication to quality and precision that defines the Frigerio collection.
Today, the Frigerio family’s passion for quality, alongside their deep-rooted connection to the region, continues to fuel the brand’s legacy of timeless elegance and innovative design.
About the designer
Umberto Asnago
Umberto Asnago, born in 1949, studied at the Istituto d’Arte in Cantù, where he honed his skills in solid wood at local carpentries. He joined Giorgetti in 1968, quickly taking charge of the Research Centre and creating numerous iconic pieces until 2006, when he ventured into freelance design. Collaborating with renowned brands like Penta Light, Arflex, and Porada, he left his mark on each creation. In 2011, he returned to Giorgetti to design a new collection. Tirelessly adapting to the furniture industry’s evolution, he began a partnership with Frigerio in 2019, crafting an innovative range that beautifully blends solid wood with leather.
