A collaboration between H&E Architects and Evolve Constructions, Shore Hire is a remarkable transformation of a 60-year old industrial building merging its rich history with new state of the art amenities over the 2,800sqm footprint.

Paying homage to the industrial heritage of the site, the interior spaces display balance between the warehouse functionality and the modern office amenities.

The design concept was to retain the original floor plate and build a box inside the structure to house the workplace. Linking these elements together is an incredible metal formed spiral staircase which ties back to the industrial nature of the building.

Innerspace worked closely with the entire project team including the designers, builder and clients to customise and supply all the loose furniture for the project.

Over 100 Oregon beams from the 1940’s original roof structure were painstakingly de-nailed and milled to produce the reclaimed breakout tables, some spanning over 6.8m in length.

Poise Lounge Chairs and Custom Cove Coffee Tables designed by Patryk Koca for Sketch were selected to wrap around the architectural black staircase in the entry void.

The Hover Bench by Sketch and Cassini Planters by Imposter were used in the entry walkways with the Rakumba Hangman Table Lamp positioned at the Reception area.

Breakout Areas were designed to create warmth and comfort using the Glide Chair and Glide Stool with Backrest in leather and the Cove Round Table by Sketch.

Open Plan workstations featured the Fixed Height Landscape Workstation Systems alongside Neo Task Chairs, Nova Task Lights by Humanscale, Motion 2 Monitor Arms, Modul Mobile Pedestals, Longspan Shelving and Rapid Lockers by Innerspace with material selections paired towards achieving an industrial design scheme. Enclosed offices featured Landscape Desks.

The Boardroom and Meeting Rooms featured Fortona Sled Chairs with a custom made Tables with built in powerboxes.

Pensive Sofas by Tolv were selected for CEO Offices and Breakout areas for its contemporary design.

A custom designed new desking system, Renaissance, for the CEO Offices was specifically developed especially for this project by Australian brand Imposter.

Gandiablasco Flat Dining Table, Flat Dining Chairs and Flat Benches were selected for the Outdoor areas due to their contemporary design and versatility.

Timeless in design, the Portuguese Chair takes inspiration from the German Bauhaus school and the iconic tubular steel forms of pioneers like René Herbst, Marcel Breuer, and Mies van der Rohe.

Its elegance lies in two continuous steel tubes, one forming the back legs, arms and backrest; the other shaping the front legs and seat frame.
