As a part of the NSW Government’s vision for a world class innovation and technology precinct in the heart of the city, the State Government kick started the project with $48.2 million in the creation of the Tech Central Precinct. The first of many planned co-working spaces, the Tech Central Precinct connects the community of Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Biotech & Tech companies.

Located next to Sydney’s Grand Central Station, The Quantum Terminal is the city’s first live collaboration space for researchers, developers, engineers and entrepreneurs who are working in the field of Advance Quantum Computing.

The new 3,000sqm co-working space will allow for Start-Up companies and individuals to access rent subsidies from the NSW Government.

Innerspace were engaged by JLL to assist with the furniture innovation and product selections to accommodate a variety of mixed use spaces for the Event Space located on Level 3 of the Heritage listed building at Tech Central.

This area facilitates a wide range of events from seminars to formal theater-style presentations to open meeting spaces and focus destination pods so the furniture product selection was a critical process of the client’s design brief.

Innerspace and 31 Degrees further developed products like this BLTC Mobile Media Unit to allow for flexibility in the space.

Further customization on the GELATO System enhanced the way teams could convene for meetings and brainstorming sessions with the additions of curtains and screen mounted whiteboards to the framework of the system.

The BLTC XL Table at standing height provided a space for quick catch ups with accessible power and data.

Innerspace used the OWN Booths to provide focus destinations for individuals and teams to use which helps reduces the surrounding noise.

Custom sized LONGTAIL was used for banquette style seating and high circular tables with built in planters to encourage conversations and collaboration. These were paired with GLIDE Stools and CENTRO tables.

A variety of products were paired together for the other collaborative lounge spaces including HUMLA and NATIVE Coffee Tables, NYSSE chairs, PASSAGE Flip and NERA High Tables, FIN Laptop Table and FORTONA 4 leg  Timber and Gas lift Chairs.

The end result allowed Innerspace to supply products that were able to deliver an internal space that is 100% sustainable for relocation and reuse with the products being able to be knocked down and transported if need be. All products were Australian made or sourced during a Covid Lockdown highlighting Innerspace’s capability for this heritage listed building at Tech Central. A fantastic first stage for this world class precinct.

The story behind a classic.

Timeless in design, the Portuguese Chair takes inspiration from the German Bauhaus school and the iconic tubular steel forms of pioneers like René Herbst, Marcel Breuer, and Mies van der Rohe.

Its elegance lies in two continuous steel tubes, one forming the back legs, arms and backrest; the other shaping the front legs and seat frame.

Available exclusively through Innerspace in Australia.
